Jessica Tuohy | Medical Team Manager

Jessica Tuohy, Medical Team Manager

I grew up in Yuma, Arizona. I started riding horses when I was just 5 years old. We spent a lot of time at the barn which is where I was introduced to 4-H. I spent a lot of time with animals growing up so I always knew veterinary medicine is where I belonged. I moved to Tempe in 2012 and graduated from the veterinary assistant program at Pima Medical Institute in February 2015 after completing my Veterinary Assisting externship at VCA Mesa Animal Hospital in December of 2014. Over the years I learned to love the outdoors even more. I enjoy finding new hiking trails with friends, exploring new restaurants and breweries. Finding new coffee spots through the valley is my favorite Sunday activity. While Fountain Hills had been my home since 2017, I now live in Chandler with three cats named Penelope, Katnip and Harrison.

Emily Choy | Certified Veterinary Technician

Emily Choy, Certified Veterinary Technician

I was born and raised in Chandler, Arizona where from a young age, I knew that my life would be surrounded by animals. My parents operated a dog rescue and our home base was full of not just our family of 6 and 5 dogs, but also as many fosters we could fit in. My world growing up was heavily influenced by dogs, but since joining this field 6 years ago, I have fallen in love with all things cats. Throughout school and the early years of being a Vet Tech, I fostered kittens with my local rescue. I loved it so much and hope to have more space in my life to get back into it again soon. I graduated from the Veterinary Technician program with my Associate’s degree from Pima Medical Institute and have passed the state and national boards to maintain and hold my CVT license. Today, my husband, 4 cats, 1 dog, 1 bearded dragon, and I live in Fountain Hills. We love to adventure outdoors and find new places to love in my home state.

Lizzy James, Technician

I was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska with a strong Italian family background. My grandfather was a second generation immigrant from Sicily and moved to America in 1907. In 2007, I moved to Arizona on my own where I attended Pima Medical Institute shortly after to become a Veterinary Technician and graduated in 2009. Since graduating, I have worked in veterinary hospitals throughout the valley, and I joined the El Dorado team in 2020. I have 4 pets at home, two Great Danes named Stana and Ramsay, two cats who I rescued as kittens from the streets, Garfield and Hilton. When I am not working at El Dorado Animal Hospital, I spend most of my time raising my son. I enjoy hiking all around Arizona, riding motorcycles, traveling, camping, painting, enjoying the beaches of California, baking and cooking my famous family Italian foods, off-roading in Arizona desert trails and visiting family back home in the midwest. I have always had a passion for animals since at a very young age when I owned an Arabian horse and would visit the farm. I am greatly influenced by the medical field from my mother working at the hospital. I pursued the veterinary field because of passion for animals and helping them.

Victoria Hammond, Certified Veterinary Technician

Growing up as a military child, I’m from a little bit of everywhere. I was born in New Mexico, raised in Arizona, and spent my teenage years in Alabama. I grew up with cats and have loved animals all my life, though I never expected to join the veterinary field. I joined the United States Air Force a couple of years after graduating high school. I did my training in Texas, Mississippi, and Missouri, eventually being stationed in Louisiana. I discovered my passion for helping animals while at my duty station and made the decision to separate from the military and pursue a career as a Veterinary Technician. I attended school at the Vet Tech Institute of Houston in Texas. I moved back to Arizona after graduation where I did my externship at Banfield Pet Hospital and worked there for about a year and a half. Today I am loving life as a Veterinary Technician and being a part of the El Dorado team. Outside of work I enjoy reading, hiking trails, day trips to other towns/cities, and spending time with my sweet pup Chloe.

I’m an Arizona native and graduate of Desert Mountain High School in May of 2020. Mine was a virtual graduation and in many ways, quite the bummer! But I survived and am very thankful to have found my way to El Dorado Animal Hospital. It is here where I find a sense of belonging. I love animals, all shapes and sizes, and all kinds. Dr. Bashaw and her staff have taken me under their wing and I am learning more every day about caring for our furry loved ones. I have been a resident of Fountain Hills since 2013 and I love living in this small town. My goal is to further my knowledge and experience in veterinary care and to eventually become a veterinary technician.

Jenna Roller, Customer Care Representative

I am originally from Indiana, but grew up in the Scottsdale area. Before I joined El Dorado in March 2019, I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at the University of Arizona and worked as a nanny and photographer. I currently live in Mesa with my boyfriend and our two shih tzus, Penny and Graham. My favorite thing to do is read (especially in the rain!), but I also love home improvement projects, escape rooms, and spending time with my family. I consider my dogs to be my babies and I believe that every pet deserves the best veterinary care. I enjoy being one of the first people you talk to when you call El Dorado, answering questions and being that friendly voice when you might be worried about your pet.

I was born in Show Low, Arizona but was raised right here in Fountain Hills. Growing up I always found a deep connection with animals, especially dogs and horses. In the past I’ve volunteered at the Fort McDowell Adventures horse stables and have worked with several different vet hospitals over the years ranging from small animals to farm animals to even a few exotic animals. Along with animals, I also have a passion for all things beauty leading me to become a licensed esthetician. Currently, my husband and I live here in Fountain Hills with our two dogs, Huckleberry (Golden Retriever) and Carl (Bernese Mountain Dog). I love being apart of the El Dorado Animal Hospital team and interacting with all the clients and patients!
